A permit technician must have excellent communication and technical skills to provide services at the Building Department's public counter. As each applicant is unique in their familiarity and expectation of the Building Department, the permit technician requires experience and skill at assessing the client’s needs and directing them appropriately. This requires a thorough understanding of the Building Department and an awareness of the other departments involved in the permit process.

WC³ has licensed permit technicians available that have experience with permit tracking programs, plan approval procedures, code requirements, and clerical work.
